get-random.com was my first experiment with blogging software. I installed WordPress and created the theme using CSS, Photoshop, and Illustrator. It started out as a blog about gaming, entertainment, and technology and had a completly different theme. I decided to change the topic to something I knew was very popular. I did keyword research and found two topics that get well over 1 million searches a month. So, I learned about keywords, long tail keywords, and did a lot of research on SEO(search engine optimization). My site stats have increased greatly compared to the technology based blog I started with. This has also been my first dabble into advertising by adding Google AdSense ads on the site.

A college project for my XHTML class. We had a set of requirements to meet, but other than that we were free to design the site however we wanted. I created the graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator. I hand-coded the site using valid CSS and XHTML. The form on the Find Out More page has a custom border and buttons and the date in the upper right corner was done using JavaScript.
